Privacy Policy for Ratings+ for YouTube
Last updated: 2026-07-03
Ratings+ for YouTube shows estimated ratings and positivity insights on YouTube watch pages using data from Return YouTube Dislike.
What the extension accesses
- The current YouTube page URL to detect the video ID.
- Visible YouTube page content needed to render the rating pill and fallback display.
- User preference data stored with
chrome.storage.syncfor display mode selection.
What data is sent to third parties
To retrieve likes, dislikes, rating, and view count estimates, the extension sends the current YouTube video ID to:
https://returnyoutubedislikeapi.com/votes?videoId=VIDEO_ID
No account credentials, browsing history outside the current YouTube page, message contents, form data, or personally identifying profile information are intentionally sent by the extension.
What data is stored
The extension stores only these user preferences in Chrome sync storage:
- Whether the rating chip shows stars, positivity percentage, or both.
No analytics, tracking identifiers, or advertising data are stored by the extension.
How data is used
Any accessed or derived data is used only to provide the extension's single purpose: showing estimated rating information on YouTube watch pages.
Data sharing
The extension does not sell user data. The only routine external transfer performed by the extension is the video ID request to Return YouTube Dislike in order to fetch rating-related data for the current video.
Security
The extension uses HTTPS requests for external data access and does not execute remote code.
Changes
This privacy policy may be updated when the extension's behavior changes. The date at the top of this page will reflect the latest revision.

After publication, support requests can be handled through the support contact listed on the Chrome Web Store item page.
